Basic Oyster Mushroom Recipe
How to Cook Oyster Mushrooms
Ingredients
- Fresh oyster mushrooms
- Butter or oil
Instructions
- Slice oyster mushrooms into ¼-inch thick strips.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the mushrooms to the dry pan or with just a very small amount of oil or butter.
- Cook uncovered, stirring often, to allow the mushrooms to release and evaporate their natural moisture.
- Once most of the moisture has cooked away, add butter or oil and continue sautéing until the mushrooms are golden brown and tender.
- For extra flavor, add sliced onions during the final few minutes of cooking and sauté until softened.
